April 14 is judgment day for Ajit. His much-hyped film ‘Tirupati’ will hit the silver screens on this very day. What makes this film crucial is that his future films, especially ‘Godfather’ will depend on the fate of this film.
The news is doing round that AVM has sold ‘Tirupati’ for Rs.10.60 Crore including its rights. The distributors are purchasing the film at a high price with the hope of getting preference for the banner’s next magnum opus ‘Sivaji’ with director Shankar and actor Rajnikanth. It is also said that producer P.L.Thenappan has bought Ajit’s next film for Rs.13 Crore on first copy basis from producer and director Bala. But it would be difficult for Thenappan to sell the film at a good price if ‘Tirupati’ makes only Rs.10.60 crores. Adding more burdens on Ajit’s shoulders, his much-delayed film ‘Godfather’ with heroine Asin can see the light of the day only if ‘Tirupati’ fare well at the box-office.
