Grandeur thy name is Kanthaswamy. The mega budget movie starring Vikram and Shriya has several first to its credit. The movie to be launched on 23 September in Chennai has several first to its credit.

For the first-time ever in the history of Indian cinema, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has come out with an electronic invitation to announce the launch of his Kanthaswamy. Also an engrossing trailer of the movie was shot in various locations involving Vikram and Shriya at a huge cost. The trailer was released recently and it featured Vikram in different getups. He appeared as a cool Casanova, an old man, a woman and an African tribal among others in the seven-minute trailer. Shot in a rich manner by cinematographer Ekambaram, the trailer has special peppy musical score by Devi Sri Prasad. Thanu said, "it would be a big budget movie". On his part, Vikram said, "Kanthaswamy would be a commercial entertainer. It would be a racy stuff with a strong message". Kanthaswamy will hit the screen on 14 April, 2008. Susi Ganesan thanked Vikram and Thanu for the co-operation rendered in churning out the trailer. "It is just a sample of what is in store for the masses ,in the film", he added.
